Turn your random junk drawer to your right-hand man.

住 Living

Random junk drawers can be incredibly annoying, we all have at least one, and here is my way to make the most of them.

My storage drawers have six sections so I separated loads of junk into six categories. If you have drawers of three then, categorise them into three.

  1. Big: Rather big items compared to the rest of the items.
  2. Small: Things that are smaller than the ‘Big’ items.
  3. Bits: Tiny things such as paper clips or just things that you want to keep such as old souvenirs or earrings.
  4. Stationery: Pens, pencils,  erasers, rulers, notebooks, any spare stocks.
  5. Tapes: Duct tapes, double-sided tapes, cellophane tapes with different size, stickers.
  6. Machines: Plugs, cables, gadgets for long drive journeys.

The categories are just an example, this works for my life and my junk. It could be ‘important’ & ‘not so important’ or ‘adults’ & ‘kids’. As long as you know what goes where, it’s fine.

Sorting out your random junk will take only 20 – 30 minutes, and then you can get on with your life without wasting your time searching for something you don’t even know if you still have! You can save about 5 minutes every time you look for something!
